UBFC represents the development of higher education, research and innovation across the whole regional territory, based on the strengths and assets of the institutions it gathers. This development leads to a multidisciplinary, high-quality training offer, in link with research in recognised specialisation fields and in agreement with territorial economy and culture.<\/p>\n<p>The strategic project of UBFC is that of a joint university that respects the sovereignty of its members while building up collective projects.<\/p>\n<p>UBFC currently hosts more than 60,000 students and 8,800 staff. It spreads across 13 sites distributed in the Bourgogne Franche-Comt\u00e9 region. The student population is mainly found in the following four urban centres:<strong> Dijon M\u00e9tropole<\/strong>, <strong>Grand Besan\u00e7on M\u00e9tropole<\/strong>, <strong>P\u00f4le m\u00e9tropolitain Nord Franche-Comt\u00e9, and Sud Bourgogne.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These centres are also at the origin of the strong industrial culture of Bourgogne \u2013 Franche-Comt\u00e9, and currently offer great economic specificities, namely the agri-food industry, micro techniques, energy, and mobility.<\/p>\n<p>Besides this regional economic activity, the key competences of Bourgogne \u2013 Franche-Comt\u00e9 have led to the emergence of three scientific lines of research recognised as themes of excellence at the international scale:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Advanced materials, waves, intelligent systems<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Territories, environment, food<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Integrated personalised care<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thus, the creation of UBFC makes it possible to develop the competitivity of Bourgogne \u2013 Franche-Comt\u00e9 at the local, national, but also international scales.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element Belfort-Montb\u00e9liard (UTBM)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ens2m.fr\/\">\u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure de M\u00e9canique et des Microtechniques (ENSMM)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.agrosupdijon.fr\/\">AgroSup Dijon<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.escdijon.eu\/\">Burgundy School of Business (BSB)<br \/>\n<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.escdijon.eu\/\">\u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure d\u2019Arts et M\u00e9tiers (ENSAM)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-4192\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-4192\"><p>Through the creation of UBFC, the grouping of the Bourgogne \u2013 Franche-Comt\u00e9 higher-education and research universities and institutions is aimed at addressing three strategic challenges, i.e.,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Create a global and legible organisation <\/strong>of higher education and research in Bourgogne \u2013 Franche-Comt\u00e9<\/li>\n<li><strong>Intensify the excellence and internationalisation<\/strong> of research<\/li>\n<li><strong>Develop attractiveness<\/strong> for students, researchers, lecturers-researchers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lead all students to success.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thus, UBFC stands out by the collective projects it builds up and supports within the community, with positive effects on all its member institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Among these projects are Investments for the Future programmes (\u201cprogrammes d\u2019investissement d\u2019avenir\u201d, PIA) such as the \u201cInitiatives Sciences Innovation Territoires \u00c9conomie Bourgogne \u2013 Franche-Comt\u00e9\u201d (I-SITE BFC) project, the \u201cNouveau Cursus \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9\u201d (NCU) project, and a University Research School (\u201c\u00c9cole Universitaire de Recherche\u201d, EUR) also called Graduate School.<\/p>\n<p>The competences of the whole community are mobilised to fulfill these projects; UBFC\u2019s diversity represents an asset at the service of all its
