University de Franche-Comté

The University of Franche-Comté is a multidisciplinary institution of higher education, human-sized, anchored in its territory, with international ambitions.

It has about 2,500 staff and 30,000 learners (including trainees), of which 24,000 have student status. It hosts 128 different nationalities.

Training

It offers a wide choice of courses with all levels of European diplomas, but also university diplomas and training for professionals. It’s a pioneer in the quality of training. Curses provided in the institution are closely related to the research activities carried out in the laboratories.

One of the strenghts of the University of Franche-Comté is the articulation training-research-innovation. It also offers a lot of opportunities for sports, culture and students life.

Research

The laboratories of the University of Franche-Comté explore various fields ranging from environmental and health sciences to humanities and sciences and engineering sciences. It counts 23 research units, including 17 reception teams. (EA) university-specific and 6 mixed units (UMR) with large public research organizations such as CNRS (5 UMR) and INSERM (1 UMR) and nearly 27 technological platforms.

Internationally

The University of Franche-Comté develops partnerships all over the world for research and training. It welcomes foreign researchers in good conditions. It has established many agreements with educational and research institutions abroad. UFC has a real commitment in promoting French language. It has a Department of International Relations and Francophonie (DRIF), a Center for Applied Linguistics (CLA) and a Franco-Swiss Network for Higher Education, Research and Innovation (Community of knowledge).
